What to Expect: Your Evaluation
Your one hour dry eye evaluation with Dr. Brady provides diagnosis, explanation, and treatment recommendations, as well as:
- Review of general health and eye histories
- Review of dry eye self-evaluation
- Discussion of symptoms
- Microscope evaluation of eyes using video & photos
- Infrared imaging of meibomian oil glands
- Infrared imaging of tear film
- Determination of tear film volume
- Determination of tear film evaporation time
- Determination of the stage of eye inflammation
- Assessment of cornea and tear film using vital dyes
- Evaluation of eyelid margins and eyelashes
- A personalized take-home Dry Eye Report
For your initial dry eye evaluation, please do not wear any eye makeup or wear contact lenses on the day of this appointment. Additionally, our Patient History & Dry Eye Self-Assessment Paperwork is required a minimum of 48 hours before your initial dry eye evaluation appointment to allow Dr. Brady the time necessary to review your case prior to your arrival.
